The Regulator 24 Packs Big Features in a Midsize Package

Edenton, N.C. (October 2005) – The Regulator 24 is truly an astounding angling machine – one that has drawn strong response from consumers and boating experts alike since its debut in 2003. With a surprising amount of fishing functionality, amenities and roominess, the 24 seems to contradict its size.

"This is an exceptionally large 24-foot model, and we specifically set out to build a boat that would maximize performance, fishing and storage," said Joan Maxwell, Regulator co-founder and president. "We listened closely to dealer feedback in the development process. The result is a rugged yet refined boat with outstanding value that has exceeded sales projections and is in high demand.”

The Lou Codega-designed hull features an overall length of 24’8” with an 8’6” beam, strategically sized to bridge the gap between the Regulator 23 and 26. Boat owners can still expect to enjoy Regulator’s trademark solid and soft ride, thanks to the deep entry, wave-slicing 24-degree transom deadrise and wide reverse chines. Regulator’s proprietary Fiberglass Grillage System is incorporated into every Regulator 24 hull for outstanding structural stability.

Experienced fishermen will immediately recognize that storage is king in the 24. Forward, a 385-quart centerline fish box houses the catch-of-the-day, or six rods in a locking compartment. Twin 88-quart fish boxes (200-quart on the FS version), one port and starboard, combined with the 64-quart cushioned cooler, produce an amazing amount of storage space in the bow area alone!

In addition, the captain will appreciate the attention to detail at the helm. The console features a standard flush-mounted fiberglass electronic panel with a raised compass, built-in glove box and hydraulic steering. New for 2006 are Yamaha Command Link instrumentation and a binnacle control with power trim.

Support at the helm is provided by a four-legged leaning post that seats two in upholstered comfort, with a built-in footrest, cooler storage and four-rod rocket launcher. The optional SuperSport leaning post incorporates tackle storage while maintaining the space-saving simplicity of the standard leaning post. The SuperSport accommodates up to nine 50-class rods and features a flip-up seat cushion with tackle storage, space underneath for a 94-quart cooler, and built-in footrest and backrest.

Aft, the 24 is designed for fish fighting at its finest, with plenty of unencumbered space for action. A 25-gallon recirculating livewell and a 61-quart bait box are at hand, and a fully-finished walk-through transom door provides easy boarding and engine access. A 15-foot self-coiling hose for the cockpit’s saltwater washdown helps keep things clean and stows easily when not in use.

An unexpected standard feature for a boat in the 24-foot class is the enclosed head compartment with 5’8” headroom, portable marine toilet or optional factory-installed upgrade with holding tank and overboard/dockside discharge. Twin cargo nets here maximize storage.

Regulator’s popular optional fiberglass T-top sports a slight crown and soft radii to give the look, feel and performance of a custom-built top. It is through-bolted to stainless steel struts for no rattle or vibration. For style points, the underside can be gel-coated to match the hull color. T-top options include dual stainless steel gas shocks on the radio access door for more balanced door lifting and staying power, and a panel for flush-mounted electronics.

Power options include a single Yamaha® F250 four-stroke or twin F150 four-strokes. The fuel tank has a long-distance, 150-gallon capacity with dual fill capability.

Regulator’s line of 23- to 32-foot offshore sportfishing boats are available in both the Classic and FS (forward seating) series, and are highly recognized for quality craftsmanship and rugged durability. The company is a repeat recipient of the National Marine Manufacturer Association’s Marine Industry CSI Award for customer satisfaction in the Fiberglass Outboard Boats category.
