The Independent Spirit of Regulator Continues In Its 29

Edenton, N.C. — Regulator Marine has once again raised the bar for other center console boat builders with the latest model to join its fleet, the all-new 29. Combining Carolina styling, unsurpassed finish work and no-nonsense functionality, this offshore fishing machine fills a natural gap between the company’s legendary 26 and its flagship 32, and will meet the needs of those sportsmen looking for exceptional performance in the 30-foot range. It is available in the 29 Classic open-bow model or the 29 FS forward seating version.

“We’re thrilled to introduce the new 29 and expect it to be a homerun in today’s competitive marketplace,” said Joan Maxwell, co-founder and president of Regulator. “We listened to our owners and our dealers, with the goal to make this the best 29-foot center console available. Early response from shows and media experts has been outstanding.”

Based on another deep-V hull from award-winning designer Lou Codega, the 29 was planned around the weights and dimensions of Yamaha’s latest four-stroke outboards. At 9’6” wide, the boat sports a broad beam, and its weight is just 1,000 pounds less than that of the 32. The 29 is wood-free. The hull is 100-percent fiberglass while the stringer system is fiberglass and Divinycell foam that’s bonded to the running bottom to make a single solid structure. There’s even a recessed transducer pocket for a clean shot on your fishfinder with no drag, no clutter. This all adds up to create one seriously tough bluewater fishing vessel.

The helm showcases one of the most dynamic features on the 29 – full-width electronics storage behind a lockable fiberglass panel. Two 10-inch displays, or a variety of smaller units, can be flush-mounted here for prime viewing from behind the wheel. Wiring for the electronics is accessible from inside the console itself, which offers an unbelievable 6’3” of headroom and a standard marine toilet. The inside of the console is completely finished with a fiberglass liner for a clean look and easy maintenance.

The leaning post structure was borrowed from the popular Regulator 26 and can be configured in one of three ways: a SuperSport leaning post with optional back rest that holds four rods and has a flip-over seat for storage underneath; or a 2x Deluxe Tackle Center with integral bait-prep center with drawers and tackle storage; or a 26/29 40 gallon Livewell leaning post. The cockpit behind the console contains an impressive amount of usable space, with room enough for four people to fish comfortably even in less-than-ideal conditions.

Need storage? The 29 is loaded. An oversized anchor locker can hold an anchor, line and chain. A massive, 520-quart, insulated box right down the center has locking storage for eight rods. On both sides of this compartment, 88-quart (or 200-quart in the FS version), insulated lockers can be used for fish boxes or dry storage. There’s a 64-quart beverage cooler tucked beneath the forward console seat, and moving aft, two side lockers can each hold a five-gallon bucket. Note that all latches are locking and constructed of durable stainless steel, and all hatch lids are resin-transfer molded for a shipshape finish and easy upkeep. Like the Regulator 24 and 32, the 29 has a flip-door and transom walkthrough for access to the engines. An 84-quart, insulated, transom bait box flanks a 30-gallon, insulated, transom livewell. A 20-gallon freshwater washdown system is standard.

Sure-to-please options on the 29 include the fiberglass T-top – one of the finest production-built tops on the market today – that has a radio box, built-in bases for the optional 18-foot Lee® Sidewinder outriggers, an LED light and an add-on five-rod rocket launcher. The optional stainless steel Edson® wheel with power knob and Teleflex® power-assist steering will appeal to the more performance-minded owners.

This center console clearly benefits from Regulator’s years of design integrity and is founded on proven engineering strategies to exceed the demands of even the most die-hard angler. The undaunted spirit of Regulator rides again in the all-new 29!

Regulator’s line of 23- to 34-foot offshore sportfishing boats are highly recognized for quality craftsmanship and rugged durability.
