An Owner’s Story: Dave Fazio
After running an Albemarle Express, this Forked River, New Jersey angler made the switch to a Regulator 23 for one reason: he wanted a heavy, seaworthy rig that’s nimble enough to fish the backwaters.
Dave Fazio puts 225 hours a season on his 2023 Regulator 23, mixing inshore bottom fishing on Barnegat Bay with offshore tuna runs to the 30 line. He’s been caught in five- to six-foot waves on his way in from tuna fishing and felt stable and comfortable, especially when he “hit her with some trim tab down and let that heavy hull work.”
Dave mostly fishes with a small group of friends and his fiancée, Lourma, who caught her very first tuna—and a 10-pound fluke—on the Regulator.
