For Christian Guthrie, his wife Jennifer, and their sons Jack (7) and Theodore (3), that boat is a Regulator center console fishing boat they run out of Manasquan Inlet in Brielle, New Jersey. From tuna runs offshore to lazy summer days at Treasure Island, their Regulator has quickly become the heart of their family’s routine.

“I bought my Regulator 26 in the winter of 2019 and sold it in the summer of 2024. By that point, moving up to the Regulator 34 was the natural next step for how we fish and cruise as a family — and it’s been the perfect boat.”

The move up made sense: more room for growing kids, more range for offshore runs and more comfort for long days chasing fish. And even though the Regulator 34 has only been in the family for less than a year, Christian is already looking ahead.

“Although the boat has been with us for less than a year, I think a Regulator 41 may be in our future!” he says with a laugh.

Christian has spent time on plenty of other center console boats, but for him, it comes down to having the complete package.

“Regulator center console boats are finished impeccably, but ride even better,” Christian says. “When it gets rough in the Northeast, there is nothing I would rather be on, and I second that for the safety of my family.”
