An Owner’s Story: Wade McCann 

What started with his dad and brother on a Regulator 26 17 years ago has come full circle with Wade now owning a Regulator 25. Proof that once you experience the unmatched quality of a Regulator center console boat, nothing else compares.

“I’ve spent my life on the water,” Wade shares, “and I’ve never found another boat that holds up like a Regulator. No matter how rough the seas, I know the fittings won’t come loose – something I can’t always say about other boats I’ve captained.”

And with his extensive background as a Commercial Dive Boat Captain in both Palm Beach and the Bahamas, Wade knows what it takes for a boat to handle the toughest seas with ease. So, after moving his young family from the snowy shores of Michigan to sunny Jupiter, Florida, Wade made it his mission to find his Regulator. 

Comparing His Options

For years, Wade searched for the perfect boat to replace the 2004 Regulator 26 he owned with his family. While he tried out an Everglades 230, which he described as a solid boat, he quickly realized it was just too small and didn’t perform well in sporty conditions.

Then, in 2025, Wade found his perfect match: a 2016 Regulator 25 with only 345 hours on the Yamaha 200s.

“Being back in the Regulator family feels incredible. The boat has a gorgeous Carolina Blue hull, and I just love it.”

But it’s not just about aesthetics. It’s the performance. 

Wade recalls one of his favorite moments: “We were exiting Jupiter Inlet with an outgoing tide pushing against northeast winds, creating those ‘standing waves’ that are tough on many boats…but not my Regulator,” he said.  

“My boys and I charged right through it without getting a drop of water on us. It’s a beast of a boat,” he added.

There’s something truly special about the experience of owning a Regulator, and Wade’s story is a perfect testament to that. Once you’ve felt the thrill of being in command of a Regulator, it’s hard to imagine boating any other way.
