Regulator Marine is proud to announce that the celebrated Regulator 35 received the Center Console Boat Innovation Award at the 2026 Discover Boating Miami International Boat Show. The award celebrates Regulator’s commitment to thoughtful design, advanced performance, and a relentless focus on the needs of its owners who demand the most from their boat. 

“It is incredibly humbling to be recognized by the industry, and I’m so proud of our design team including David Clubbs, Don Seal, Erik Wiborg, Jonathan Godfrey and the engineering and manufacturing techs at the factory,” said Regulator co-founder and President Joan Maxwell. "Our main tenants for any boat is to make it safe, reliable and repeatable. David and his team approached this project from this standpoint and took it to another level.”

 

 

The Miami International Boat Show Innovation Awards recognize marine manufacturers who introduce forward-thinking designs and technologies that enhance the boating experience. For Regulator, the award is less about accolades and more about reaffirming the company’s mission to build boats that work as hard as their owners do.

The Regulator 35 was developed with one simple goal: build the most capable, comfortable, and confidence-inspiring center console in its class. From its advanced deep-V hull design and proven ride to its lithium-ion power system, Dometic gyro stabilizer, patent-pending helm vent, fishing-focused transom, Seakeeper Ride leveling system and advanced storage solutions, every detail was shaped by feedback from Regulator owners who expect their boats to perform without compromise.

“Dometic is a proven company across multiple platforms, so partnering with them allowed us to stay within our tenets and give the customer more — more power, more confidence, more fun and less management,” Maxwell said. 

Regulator has always believed innovation should serve the customer first. Many of the features on the Regulator 35 came directly from conversations with owners on the docks and at tournaments, so this award belongs to them as much as it belongs to the company.

“It's an honor to represent both our great partners and the team back home in Edenton,” said David Clubbs, VP of Engineering. “Innovation at Regulator is about creating boats that intuitively integrate advanced systems to provide our customers with the best available offshore experience. We want everything on the boat to  work well together without relying on constant direction or monitoring from the helmsman.”

“Regulator has brought multiple innovations to the familiar center console genre with its 35-footer, including Dometic’s gyro stabilization system, lithium-ion house power system and a sea chest with built-in redundancy," said Innovation Judge Gary Reich. “Pairing this with Regulator’s bulletproof build quality and refinement made the 35 a stand out in this category.”

“We are humbled to serve a God that challenges us to trust Him. We are humbled that our customers trust us with their most precious gifts, their family and friends,” said Maxwell. “This is the first boat designed by our next generation in-house team and it gives me great confidence as we look to Regulator's future.”

The Regulator 35 made its public debut at the 2025 Discover Boating Miami International Boat Show, where it drew strong interest from boaters, industry professionals, and media alike.
